Meet the Founder
The year was 1992. A doctor had advised me to purchase compression stockings. After making multiple trips to the drugstore, trying brand after brand and size after size until I found ones that fit, I hoped they were accomplishing their purpose.
But after all this effort, I was frustrated. Why was I relying on guesswork and unearned trust? I was seeking relief and educated help. Why was the drugstore my only option?
I began conducting research, connecting with doctors, listening to patients and their concerns, and reaching out to insurance companies to advocate for coverage of these essential medical items. And so, the Surgical Shop was born in the living room of my small apartment.
The shop soon grew beyond its modest beginnings, and we opened our first store in Monsey, NY. As customers learned about our expertise in fittings, our ability to assist with insurance issues, and the high quality of our products, the business grew. We opened additional stores in Monroe, Lakewood, and Brooklyn.
